Just checking in to say hello.  I was interested to see your little article about clay therapy in your newsletter as you said you were going to put in.  Thank you.  Clay therapy works!! I know!  We've had a dreadful couple of days at work.  On the residential side of the special school where I work, there was a shocking accident 2 days ago.  The caregivers had taken a group of children on an outing and on the way home they had a car accident.  One child is not expected to live, another has been left paralyzed, and the driver is in an awful state in hospital.  You can imagine the other children. The friends of the children who are hurt. They are quite distraught, as I might add are the staff.  Anyway today I pulled out the molds you sent me and the polymer clay and I had my kids work with that and make some of the things. If you could see the change in them as they worked you wouldn't believe it.  They had come into the classroom quite distraught, angry, high level behaviours, emotions, etc and by the time I sent them back to the residential this afternoon I sent back a calmer more understanding group.  It works!!!  Thank you. Even when I am laying in bed, I am thinking about how I can use your various pictures, textures, and shapes to make wonderful things! So the magic of clay therapy works not only while I am "playing," but also while I am resting, and helps to keep me from dwelling on pain! I have had health problems for the past 9 years starting with cancer. I'm cancer free now though thank the Lord, but there have been many challenges the last few years including a multitude of surgeries from various things. Until last year I had been doing Pyrography. Discovered clay, gives me the opportunity to work at my leisure; actually complete some pieces in just a half hour or so due to the ease of your molds, and work in a position that is not straining on my back! Your molds have literally opened a whole new world for me!! So I "play" off and on when I feel well enough. And, the best thing about doing this type of thing is that it really helps to take my mind off chronic pain and keeps me sane!!! My husband calls it "hobby anesthesia!" My husband built a studio for me to do my woodworking in, and we have just reorganized it to accommodate all of these new clay tools, my new polymer toaster oven and now my new kiln! I now have a counter with a couple of spaces for more than just one person to work, and have already had a couple of women over to play with me. They are also enchanted! I have a feeling that once I begin giving out my presents to people, they will all want to come over to my house to play too! (My husband is the administrator for our church of 2500 people and lots of the women like to come and visit..now they'll have something fun to do!) I think you'll be getting more customers as we go along!!!! Your prices are so good, that people can begin to have fun with very little initial investment. Although, your website makes every mold just too tantalizing so they'll want to get them all!!!! Have you ever thought of doing in-home parties like all the stamping and memory parties? I think that would be a wonderful idea! Especially for younger girls who like to get together in groups and play anyway. And, with clay you can't go wrong! And..you can go home with wonderful finished projects in one evening!!!! AND (this is a biggie for me) there is no guilt associated with not having all of your pictures organized and ready to make scrapbook pages..this is a "start with nothing, finish with something beautiful" type hobby with no guilt!!!!
